When He calls, you go.

As the weekend rest begins, the opportunity to have a moment of reset is at hand. Despite the challenges this past week has presented, it is now the time to pause and slow down. Don't be caught up in the conveyer belt of busyness. Take time to reset. Become reopened to the what the word of God has to say today.

The words of Jesus are never miss-communicated. He never acts unintentionally. His actions are always calculated and correlated to the Father's desire.

We read in Mark 1:16 - 19 how Jesus got to the stage of having people follow Him. As many of you who are reading this may be aware, the people that ended up being Jesus' disciples were arguably not the first picks if you were starting a ministry evangelistic team today. But instead of focusing on the type of people that Jesus chose to follow Him, I want to focus on how Jesus called them.

As you read the accounts of Jesus calling the specific disciples we have incredibly challenging scenarios that I believe can provide us with a reset moment, and it's this:

When He calls, you go.

When He speaks into your life you have a choice as to whether you will remain passive or active. A choice whether the moment will pass you by or be the very marker moment that changes the whole trajectory your life has previously been on.

It's categorically clear that Jesus doesn't get intimidated about the circumstances He is speaking into if it is in line with what He see's the Father doing. It is categorically clear that Jesus is not intimated about speaking into circumstances in your life that seem intimating and 'not the right time' for Him to speak.

Take the situations the disciples were in as an example when Jesus spoke into their lives. For example, it's Peter and Andrew who abandoned their career security and financial stability by abandoning their nets at once to follow Jesus. Or the men we read about in Luke 9 who ask Jesus if they can bury their family first and say goodbye before coming which is met by a categoric no. Finally, both James and John who leave their very own father to go when Jesus called.

It appears that when He calls, you go.

What / Where is Jesus calling you out of in your life today? Or what has Jesus been calling you out of this past week in order to allow you to step in to something fresh this week?

While this is to be a digestible snipper for you to dwell on and rest in this weekend, it doesn't mean it's going to any less palatable than how Jesus framed it in His word.

There is a timely window fuelled with spiritual potential as you hear the word's of Jesus, "Come follow me." But it is only a window and a timely opportunity to act on as the people we've just mentioned would have known.

Find the areas in your life where Jesus is calling you out of, in order to bring you in to the journey of following Him.

So that in that day as you stand before Him, you can say:

Jesus, when you called, I came.

When you spoke, I responded.

When I heard, I obeyed.

Jesus is the only source of life we will ever need and the only one worth following with all that we have.

Amen!
